Throughout my life, the "little things" have always
meant the most to me.
Never was that more apparent since settling in Boquete!
How can you put a price on the abundance of loving smiles
and happy faces you find on Boqueteños and ex patriots
alike?
Is it the inherent "tranquilo" lifestyle? Is it
that, plus the wish to "breathe in", sustain and
perpetuate that precious contentment by the newcomers.
Quien sabe! (who knows)
What is important, is that it is viral, obvious and it feels
really good!
Sounds like a man in lust, yes? Amen! And that lust continues
to grow and expand every day.
I won't recount the actual personal experiences here, but
please allow me to recognize the many beautiful people that
have enriched my life in the short 90 days since my arrival.
I urge you to meet and savor these magnificent humans when
you Escape to Boquete:
- Franco
A new found friend. Costa Rican native and owner of Pension
Marilos in Boquete. Caring, soft, spiritual. A beacon of
humanity!
- Olga
The sweet and charming owner of Punto de Encuentro breakfast
cafe. Simple and tranquil, and situated at her home, this
is where those "in the know" take spiritual and
gastronomic nourishment before setting-out to the best of
Boquete-style days, whether it be business or pleasure filled.
- Alvaro
A native Boqueteño. A master musician, who is an
accomplished Classical Guitarist. I've shared precious and
deep philosophical meanderings with this man of twenty something.
Profound, gentle and wise beyond his years.
- Marilyn
My housekeeper. A native of Darien province. Along with
her family, they run a magnificent rustic farm in the highlands.
They labor intensely and barely survive off the fruits of
their labor, yet continue to smile, be happy, trust in God
and look toward the future. A work-ethic beyond comparison,
I literally must call her work day to an end or I'm certain
that she would work around the clock. She anticipates my
every need and executes with surgical precision.
- Hans & Jackie
Close friends and native Boqueteños. Owners of the
fabulous riverside restaurant "Palo Alto". Jackie's
passion is Art and she most recently orchestrated an "Arte
y Vinos" affair (Art exhibition and wine tasting) at
Palo Alto that was a smashing success. So much so that the
event will be held once a quarter due to popular demand.
I could go on, but I will save it for later. My apologies
to many of my other dear Boquete friends whom I haven't mentioned.
I promise to add you here in the future.
My aim here is to impart the MAGIC and "quality of life"
that is Boquete beyond the tangible assets that we deem vital
and necessary and which we sometimes mistakenly elevate to
priority status on our needs and wants list.
I extend a "warm and special invitation" to those
of you who long for and deserve the "Boquete Quality
of Life".
When are you going to take YOUR "Leap of Faith"?
